Marketing Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL

The convenience store and foodservice industry’s leading B2B media and information company is seeking a Marketing Specialist to help execute this innovative company’s aggressive and demanding marketing efforts. If you have experience in not only conceptualizing and writing promotional material but juggling multiple marketing projects, timelines, goals, and deadlines, then we have an interest in you.

Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:

  • Assist in the execution of the existing marketing plan/timeline across all product lines – print, digital, mobile and meetings/conferences
  • Assist in project management of new and existing campaigns
  • Conceptualizing and writing ads, brochures, postcards, email promotions, direct mail campaigns and corporate PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to conceive multiple theme options for projects and supply creative brief for each to management team
  • Assist in database management
  • Interaction with seasoned & decentralized sales force
  • Executing additional marketing efforts as directed by Senior Marketing Director
  • Assist in Web work including website updates and content coordination

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Minimum 3 years marketing promotion copywriting experience in the B2B environment including ads, brochures, email marketing and Web promotions
  • Ability to write press releases
  • Superb project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time
  • Killer attention to detail
  • First-class customer service skills
  • Experience in executing small campaigns from beginning to end
  • Experience in coordinating website design including knowledge of Web specifications
  • Proactive individual with ability to "bear hug" all projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Welcomes new technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience in other presentation tools such as Keynote and Prezi
  • Experience in database management. Experience with a CRM program a plus
  • Experience with trade shows including coordinating a company’s exhibit & working a booth
  • Understanding of the publishing industry also a plus
