Winsight is a B2B information services company focused on the food and beverage industry, providing insight and market intelligence to business leaders in every channel consumers buy food and beverage – convenience stores, grocery retailing, restaurants and noncommercial foodservice – through media, events, data products, advisory services, and trade shows.

Winsight’s digital team offers an outstanding opportunity for a Web Producer to work with its editorial, digital and marketing/events staffs. The Web Producer is responsible for managing, producing and executing digital products and ensuring their delivery to Winsight’s websites, multimedia, e newsletters, and social media audiences. The ideal candidate is a digitally-skilled multimedia journalist or social media manager who wants to contribute to improving Winsight’s digital presence. This position will work out of our Chicago office.


Responsibilities:

Optimize and publish digital stories. Assemble and send newsletters. Manage social media channels. Create and publish multimedia pieces. Publish special packages. Track website performance/report on analytics. Assist the marketing/events team in uploading digital content. Guide print editors in all digital best practices. Keep up-to-date on digital trends. Help other digital teammates when necessary.

Content Production

  • Work closely with the editorial team to produce digital content
  • Identify story leads, graphics, tabular material and stories from Winsight titles that are suitable for populating our websites and e newsletters and ensure the materials are posted appropriately in the content management system
  • Edit digital content to ensure alignment with brand standards and best practices
  • Understand and support Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Assist with content migration and special projects as we redesign our websites and other digital initiatives
  • Assist with large digital premier packages
  • Assist in multimedia production
  • Assist the marketing/events team with their digital content


E newsletters

  • Select content to be included in e newsletters and write thought-provoking subject lines
  • Schedule, produce, test and deploy e newsletters
  • Build basic email templates in Marketo


Multimedia

  • Assist in recording podcasts
  • Edit and upload podcasts for multi-platform distribution


Analytics

  • Analyze Google Dashboards for site/story performance and trends
  • Help the editorial team reach its page-view and visit goals for the month
  • Use Google Analytics to dig deeper into referral traffic and story success


Social Media

  • Help manage social media channels and grow our social audiences
  • Assist in formulating social media strategies
  • Assist with marketing/events social media scheduling
  • Produce live streams of editor chats and story promotions
  • Execute audience development campaigns


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

AP Style, Google Analytics, HTML, Newsletter marketing platforms (Marketo), Drupal/other CMS, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite, Social Media

  • Excellent content editing, project management and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience – journalism, media, marketing or communications preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in print/digital journalism or social media marketing/management
  • Basic understanding of food service, convenience, grocery and events or willingness to adopt the industries
  • Proficient with web and feature style writing; video and audio editing a plus
